Shameema from Mulbarton strives to conquer Mount Kilimanjaro

Mulbarton resident Shameema, aims to climb Mount Kilimanjaro for the first time to inspire women to do the impossible.

Shameema Moola, a resident of Mulbarton, is going on an incredible journey to fulfill a lifelong dream while also hoping to inspire other women to follow theirs.

She aims to climb Mount Kilimanjaro over a period of five days and will attempt to reach the summit of the dormant volcano in Tanzania. She leaves South Africa on June 16 and begin her climb the following day.

Shameema has been doing hikes as well as climbing exercises to prepare herself for the altitude levels. She also does weight lifting in preparation for pulling herself up the many cliffs and peaks that she will encounter.

A major challenge for her would be tackling the altitude while maintaining her oxygen levels and keeping a regulated body temperature against freezing weather conditions. As she is an avid marathon runner and gym bug, Shameema believes she is prepared for the challenge ahead.

“I see this experience as exciting and interesting. I hope to achieve greatness and inspire other women to do the same.”

Her commitment to this challenge is admirable as she wants to use this experience to motivate herself to achieve even more in life.
