Johannesburg Water systems to be impacted by Rand Water maintenance

Residents are urged to store water for the period of the maintenance.

Bulk supplier Rand Water (RW) will conduct extensive maintenance on their infrastructure from June 22 to July 29.

This will impact some of its customer’s systems, including Johannesburg Water (JW) and other municipalities and industries.

This preventative maintenance is imperative to make RW’s systems more efficient and reliable for their customers.

The maintenance work will affect JW’s systems supplied by the Palmiet and Eikenhof pump stations, as well as the Daleside Booster Station.

During this time, JW customers will have low-pressure to no water supply.

TW estimates full recovery of the systems may take approximately five days or longer after the supply has been restored.

JW will arrange alternative water supply at strategic areas like hospitals, clinics, schools, municipal offices, police stations and shopping centres. However, they encouraged residents to store water in preparation for the maintenance.

Residents will receive regular updates on the official JW social media platforms.
