The community is welcome to join the festivities on the day.

Uncle Baboo and Crew will once again host an open day for the old age homes in the area on June 22.

This year they will be hosting Bellavista and Reuven senior citizens, with approximately 380 guests to be served.

Uncle Baboo said lunch and tea would be served with some light entertainment. “We would also like to distribute a winter medical pack to each senior citizen. As always, we request the assistance of the community to make this possible,” he said.

To prepare three dhegs of mutton akhni, the following ingredients are required: 45kg mutton, three bags of potatoes, 25kg rice, two boxes of tomatoes, two pockets of onions, 12 litres sour milk, 12 tins tomato puree and water.

The Crew also needs cold drinks and juices, disposable cutlery and crockery to serve the meal, cakes and treats for tea time, tea bags and milk.

For the winter medical packet, the following items are required: Vicks, Panado tablets, cough mixture, face towels, Zambuk, soap and hand lotion.

“Your kind and generous contributions will be greatly appreciated. Donations can be made in cash or the items can be provided. The community is welcome to join on the day,” he said.
