Miss South Hills hosts annual pageant

The pageant seeks to develop the youth in its community and create for them a brighter future.

Miss South Hills hosted its annual pageant, where they crowned the winners for 2024.

The pageant judges contestants for their talent and physical appearance. They modelled three outfits: introduction wear, swimwear designed by Davidson exclusive designs, and an evening gown.

This pageant’s importance in the community is to touch girls’ lives and make them feel good about themselves. It also helps the young participants gain confidence, independence, and success and stresses women’s empowerment, such as starting a business at a young age. It encourages the youth in the community to follow their dreams.

Founders Muchellay and Sarah Trollip said: “The journey was a great experience leading up to the big day. We got to work together and get to know each other better, and we had practice every Saturday till the day of the pageant.

“As their modelling coach, I had a chance to see the talents of the young girls. It was exciting to see their hard work and passion to lead by example in the community and be a voice of upliftment,” highlighted Muchellay.

The pageant hopes to achieve and get to work with many talented women and businesses and help promote small businesses. Additionally, it seeks to grow and get sponsors to help the girls advance in the real world.

The pageant’s 2024 winners:

• Matsawela Rasikhoko – Miss South Hills;

• Tameka Meyers – first princess;

• Michellay Trollip – second princess;

• Deleneé Rossouw – Miss Personality.

Lady M cosmetics products, owned by Muchellay Trollip, sponsored the winner’s prizes.

The Miss South Hills pageant looks forward to more opportunities, especially collaborating with NPOs in the community.
