Three suspects arrested for conspiracy and possession of unlicensed firearms in Naturena

JMPD's swift action nabs trio planning restaurant robbery with unlicensed firearms in Naturena.

The JMPD Tactical Response Unit arrested three men in Naturena on January 7 for conspiracy to commit a crime and possession of unlicensed firearms.

According to Superintendent Xolani Fihla, JMPD officers received information regarding suspects who were about to rob Tinti’s Restaurant and Bar in Naturena.

“Upon their arrival at the location, the officers spotted the suspect’s parked vehicle. As the occupants were about to enter the bar, the officers immediately intercepted them.

“A scuffle broke out between the officers and the suspects as they attempted to flee. Three men were apprehended and one suspect fled the scene. Two firearms and two cellphones with no SIM cards were recovered.

“The suspects were arrested and detained at Mondeor SAPS and are due to appear in court soon,” said Fihla.
