JMPD warns: Remove illegal posters or face penalties

The JMPD has intensified its campaign against illegal posters and signages. Superintendent Xolani Fihla emphasises the importance of adhering to regulations and encourages those interested in legal advertising to follow the proper channels.

The JMPD has taken action to remove illegal posters and signages in the city to maintain cleanliness and order.

According to the JMPD spokesperson, Superintendent Xolani Fihla, they urge individuals to remove their illegal posters and signages to avoid penalties.

“Those interested in legally installing signages and posters are advised to apply with the CoJDevPlanning outdoor advertising department. This initiative is part of the city’s efforts to clean the streets and remove the many illegal posters marring public surfaces.

“Illegal advertising, posters, boards, and banners have been a growing concern, with the JMPD and the By-Law Management Unit officers working to remove them from the city,” said Fihla.
