New training qualifications at Believers Care Society

The Believers Care Society – Centre of Excellence for Youth Development has introduced another training course – the basic kitchen appliance repairer course.

The Quality Council for Trade and Occupation has accredited the course with accreditation number 07-QCTO/SDP 011022145135.

This skills programme prepares a learner to operate as a domestic electrical appliance repairer. They repair and maintain domestic electrical appliances, focusing on basic kitchen appliances in rural and urban residential areas. Learners will gain an understanding of broader competencies for employment and entrepreneurial qualities.

The number of credits for the skills training course is 27, and the learning period is three months, attending four hours a day. The requirement to enrol for this training programme is open access (anyone can register, irrespective of their result or qualification. This includes Grade Nines and others who dropped out of school).

Other courses offered are sound engineering NQF 5, graphic/multimedia design NQF 4, office skills and administration NQF 3, computer course NQF 3, project management NQF 4, PC engineering NQF 4, mobile engineering (Comptia), contact centre support/call centre course NQF 2, system development NQF 4, CISCO IT essentials (international certification}.

Learners receive a certificate of competence after they successfully complete the course. Graduation ceremonies happen upon course completion and the achievement of competence.

Registration requirements: copy of ID, proof of residence or police affidavit confirming address, short CV, and previous qualification/no qualifications, all certified. Must be willing to study and to complete the training/project duration.

Registration has begun and will close on October 18. This course is free.

Preference will go to young people on the government social welfare system and grants to help them become employable and self-dependent.
