Gas cylinders impounded for non-compliance in La Rochelle

The JMPD took a stand for safety after officers impounded gas cylinders in La Rochelle Butcher for non-compliance.

Officers from the JMPD and City of Johannesburg EMS inspectors recently impounded gas cylinders from a butcher in La Rochelle.

According to JMPD superintendent Xolani Fihla, the establishment violated flammable liquid gas regulations concerning the use, storage, and handling of gas cylinders within the premises.

“The incident underscores the importance of adhering to safety protocols, particularly when handling potentially hazardous materials. Compliance with these regulations is not up for negotiation because it directly impacts the well-being of customers and employees.

“We urge residents and businesses to familiarise themselves with and adhere to all relevant safety regulations. Doing so will contribute to a secure and thriving community for all,” said Fihla.
