Young music sensation releases his first single

The young boy conquers all his fear through his God given talent.

Tumelo Mulaudzi (12), professionally known as Mighty Tee, is a gospeliano vocalist from Johannesburg South and is in Grade Six at Calvary Christian College.

He is part of a Christian-based family and loves singing and dancing to gospel or jazz music. He said: “Music has always been my source of joy and comfort for me. My passion for music has given me a platform to overcome my fears.” He released his first single titled Ofana Naye.

The beginning of his journey

He began singing at the age of four.

“At the age of six, I would always sing Lebo Sekgobela’s song Lion of Judah in class and that’s when my teacher, Mrs Yule, encouraged me to sing at a school concert.”

His management helped him come up with the stage name Mighty Tee. “I have been told that I always had a mighty voice and the Tee comes from my name Tumelo.”

His single, Ofana Naye

Tumelo writes his music with his management team who has helped him realise the importance of staying true to his roots and using his talent to embrace God.

“Ofana Naye means that I can do all things through Him. Even when I face challenges, God has given me all the tools to navigate life,” he said.

The positive impact on his life

“I am mostly inspired by Ayanda Tanzi, Lebo Sekgobela, Bucy Radebe, Life and seeing children my age chasing their dreams in different fields. My role model is my brother-in-law, Bongani Ramatlo, who is my manager. He is always positive and shows so much dedication to his work and that’s where I draw my inspiration to do better as an artist and as a person,” said Tumelo.

Insight into his music

Bhodla Mlilo Realm signed Tumelo and they focus on developing young talent. The zealous musician said: “My music carries a message that encourages young people to believe in themselves and know that anything is possible if you put in the work, time and fully dedicate yourself”

Mighty Tee aspires to continue producing gospeliano which is a genre fused with gospel and amapiano, Afro pop and any type of song that has a good vibe, energy and positive message.

Facing difficulties

“I face a lot of challenges as a 12-year-old artist, one of them being that most opportunities are for those 18 years and older. People tend to overlook kids around my age group. I overcome this by staying focused and understanding that good things take time,” emphasised Tumelo.

Proud parents

“He started singing at a very young age. He has made us proud ever since. We have seen how much he has improved and grown in the music space,” said proud mother, Paulinah Mulaudzi.

Tumelo’s father, Ephraim Mulaudzi, said: “We support him by rallying behind him through his music journey. We attend his shows.

Expanding the brand
