St Martins’ School spends the day giving back at the Salvation Army

The learners of St Martin's School are encouraged to have empathy through the Outreach Programme

Every second Friday, St Martin’s School exposes learners to activities that provide learning and life experiences beyond the classroom.

On July 14 as a part of this Free-Friday Programme, the Form Ones and all high school learners visited the Salvation Army’s South Rand church.

Thanks to the efforts of the St Martin’s High School life orientation classes and the wider school community, the learners distributed pre-loved clothing and helped prepare and run the soup kitchen for the needy in the area.

Acing headmaster, Warren Venter said: “We hope that, through the outreach programme, our learners will be able to develop an elevated sense of empathy to the plight of the many impoverished communities in our country.”
