A fantastic week for children at camp

Volunteers helped a lot during the camp.

Jesu o Bitsa Bana Christian children’s holiday camp took place at Siyaphambili Daycare and Preschool, Jackson informal settlement, from October 3 to 7.

The camp saw on average 150 to 180 children attend daily and they planted their own tomato plants, donated by Titterton Wholesale Nursery.

Cause4paws came to teach the children how to treat their dogs and cats.

Michelle Rawbone from the camp said, “Thursday PHT company visited us, teaching the children how to wash their hands. And they gave out prizes to the children who answered correctly on their questions after the lessons.

“Friday we hosted the police who taught the children about personal safety, public safety and bullying. They were led by Sergeant Mnguni from Mondeor Police Station. Felix the fire bunny taught children about their safety in case of a fire.

“The children enjoyed breakfast and lunch daily.”

She thanks the sponsors who assisted, including Bene Water, Meals on Wheels Walkerville, Manny and Roy vegetable farm on the R554, Johnny Walker Restaurant, Walkerville Pharmacy, Postnet Walkerville, Shell garage Eikenhof and Titterton Wholesale Nursery.
