City Power warns of fake job interview invitation

The public is warned not to fall for these scam messages.

The City Power has warned of job scam messages that are being sent to the public for a job interview invitation.

City Power spokesperson Isaac Mangena said the fake note invites unsuspecting job-seekers to the interviews at City Power offices on Monday, October 10 at 10am.

“City Power has advertised for the post of Electrician (REF 001) and the applications closed on September 21. We are yet to go through the applications and contact the shortlisted applicants to invite them for interviews,” he said.

The public is urged not to contact the number on the message.

“The fake message further asks the applicants to contact Mr Nkambule on a cell number 076 413 8012. DO NOT call him. Please note that City Power will never give out staff’s personal cellphone numbers for jobs or Tenders. We also don’t use @Gmail or @Workmail,” said Mangena.

City Power requests those who have already applied for the Electrician job to ignore this fake message and wait for the email or call from City Power Human Resources Department if you are shortlisted.
