Court gives 10 years for damaging infrastructure

The Booysens Magistrate’s Court sentenced Lesotho national Sekamotho Tsimatsi (27) to 10 years imprisonment on July 31.

Magistrate Matshitse sentenced Tsimatsi for tampering with, damaging or destroying essential infrastructure such as Telkom cables on August 23, 2021, in Mondeor.

He was sentenced in terms of the provisions of Section 51 of the Criminal Law Amendment Act 105 of 1997, and in terms of Section 103 Act 60 of 2000, he is declared unfit to possess a firearm.
