Mulbarton restaurant murder case postponed to May 27

The incident happened on July 30, 2021, at Il Camino Italian Restaurant in Mulbarton.

The murder case against Daniel Rowland was postponed again on May 17 for transcripts.

It was postponed to May 27 at Booysens Magistrate’s Court.

On the day, the defence of Rowland said they had paid for the transcript, however, they haven’t received them.

On February 14, Rowland’s defence counsel Van Heerden asked the court for an application of the transcript of the case, because she felt the magistrate was not fair to them, and the manner she addressed them would jeopardise the outcome of the case.

She also expressed that she wished Magistrate Habib to recuse herself from the case.

Rowland stands accused of injuring a woman in a restaurant after firing off a shot with his gun.

The woman later died in the hospital. The incident happened on July 30, 2021, at Il Camino Italian Restaurant in Mulbarton.

His bail was extended.
