Magistrate Habib sentenced Lesotho national Kgotso Rakgalele (28) to 10 and 15 years in prison for rape and attempted murder at Booysens Magistrate’s Court on November 22.
The sentences will run concurrently. The incidents happened on March 21 last year near Rispark when Rakgalele unlawfully and intentionally committed an act of sexual penetration with a female.
On the same day, he attempted to kill the victim by stabbing her with a knife.
