Man shot dead in Bellavista flat
One of the suspects also sustained gun shot wounds during the incident.
A man believed to be in his 40s has been shot dead in Bellavista flat on May 29.
The incident took place around 10:20 am.
According to witnesses on the scene, the man was shot at least four times by three suspects who later ran towards Chrisville.
The witnesses told Southern Courier that the deceased is a kind man who cleans dustbins in the area.
Reports suggest that one of the three suspects was also shot when the deceased used him as a shield while he was being shot.
Booysens SAPS communication officer Capt. Lorraine van Emmerik said a case has been opened at the station.
The members are currently working on information received at the scene.
The motive for the murder is unknown at this stage; however, an investigation is underway.
