Glenanda Clinic hosts cancer awareness day

The clinic opened its doors to the public for free cancer screening

In commemoration of Cancer Awareness Month, Glenanda Clinic hosted a Cancer Awareness Day, offering cervical and prostate cancer screening services to the community.

The facilities allowed the community to screen for cancer with the services available.

Community member Valerie Pillai shared what it meant to her, saying, “It is an absolute bliss to have a facility such as Glenanda Clinic offering these services at no cost, especially with the cost of treatments and screenings for cancer.”

Another member, Mamokete Kumalo, said, “It is a great opportunity for us to have these kinds of services available to ensure we are aware of the status of our health.”

Other community members who came for screenings shared the same sentiments that some cannot afford medical aid. A chance to do free cancer screenings to create awareness was crucial, and, as a community, they were grateful.
