Special guests visit Kids’ Cabin preschool during Eid gifts exchange

It was a memorable evening for the learners of Kids' Cabin preschool with the former executive mayor of Johannesburg, Thapelo Amad (Imaam), the ward councillor, Rashieda Landis and renowned artist, Taariq Uwais Malinga visited.

Kids’ Cabin is a Department of Education registered preschool in Robertsham, which caters for children between the ages of three to six years old.

“The school focuses on holistic learning and development and we are always looking for opportunities which allow our learners to be involved in community outreach projects,” said Zaaheda Lorgat, the principal of Kids’ Cabin.

On April 20 the management, staff and learners at Kids’ Cabin were humbled and honoured to have the former executive mayor of Johannesburg, Thapelo Amad (Imaam), ward councillor Rashieda Landis, artist Hilaal, and TV presenter and fashion designer Taariq Uwais Malinga join in the mass iftaar (the breaking of fast meal after evening prayer and sunset in the Islam religion). It involved both Kids’ Cabin learners as well as children from the Al Uwais Foundation.

The evening allowed learners to engage at their own comfort levels, while still experiencing the many benefits of doing good for others. They shared a meal and a heart-warming exchange of Eid gifts.

Kids’ Cabin has experienced a great number of events, however, this particular night with its special guests who took time out from their busy schedules to meet and address the young learners will certainly be memorable and treasured for years to come.
