JMPD officers happy for their new ranks

The officers were promoted from the rank of Constable to the ranks of Sergeants and Inspectors. The newly appointed officers will be deployed at the Academy, Internal Affairs and Operations Directorate level.

It was with great honour that the acting chief of the JMPD Angie Mokasi, along with leadership and staff celebrated the promotion of 13 employees comprising five women and eight men recently.

The officers were promoted from the rank of constable to the rank of sergeant and inspector. The newly appointed officers will be deployed at the academy, internal affairs and operations directorate levels.

All the newly appointed officers were in a jovial mood when receiving their new ranks. They were excited and looking forward to adding extra value to their new positions.

Inspector Jenice Davids said, “I am overwhelmed and extremely grateful. Thanks the Lord Almighty for answering my prayers.”

The 13 JMPD officers together with JMPD acting chief Angie Mokasi along with leadership staff.

Mokasi congratulated the sergeants and inspectors and reminded them that they have important responsibilities ahead in ensuring that officers perform their best in protecting the community of Johannesburg.

She also encouraged them to continue to perform their duties with diligence and pride.

“Welcome aboard, as of today you have to think like managers. Together we can take the department forward and we can be a force to be reckoned with,” said Mokasi.
