Group 1 Cars helps keep Alberton clean

Group 1 Cars Alberton takes the responsibility to keep clean the Voortrekker Road centre islands.

Upon coming back from the Christmas holidays, the Alberton locals were faced with poor service delivery issues, especially with overgrown grass in open fields, parks and pavements, and waste collection backlogs.

Local-based business Group 1 Cars crew members recently intervened to help keep the community clean as it used to be.

The company has cut and cleaned the overgrown grass in Voortrekker Road to keep the centre islands tidy as they form part of the tourism attraction within the community.

Group 1 Cars dealer principal Pat Henderson said that as a group they have been involved in regular community clean-ups to beautify the Alberton surrounding areas.

According to Henderson, they have participated in the mayoral clean-up campaign, as well as the spring clean-up campaign in partnership with SOJO Business and Tourism.

“It is important to have pride in your surroundings and always support initiatives to achieve the community’s desirable goals. As Group 1, supporting the community is one of our main objectives,” said Henderson.

On Voortrekker Road, Henderson and her staff were seen mowing the grass on the central islands.

The Group 1 Cars team has promised to keep the centre islands in good condition so that they appear properly cared for as people enter the main road from the highway.

Cleaned up by local business.

“We challenge other business owners to join us to work together in keeping our streets clean and looking well maintained,” Pat concluded.
