One family living nearby in Alberton finally visited after promising to come for many years. Another from Kayalami didn’t seem to notice the heat as they scrambled up the steep ridge to enjoy the views.
There are many options on the Koppies. Self-guide yourself across the many trails, test yourself on the 5km trail, teach yourself on the self-guided heritage trail or learn more on a guided tour leaving at 08:00 sharp.
The Koppies are open every Sunday morning between 08:00 and 11:30 with safe parking (opposite the Melville Koppies entrance) at Marks Park Sports Club in Judith Road, Emmarentia.
Security on the Koppies is provided.
Cost is R90 per person and R50 for children under the age of 18. Season tickets are also available at R500 per adult for a year per adult. These are not transferable.
All income is used for the maintenance of the Koppies.
