Mayberry Park DJ’s collabo gets people moving
A local duo recently collaborated to release an Extended Play which comprises two tracks, namely New Light and Ai (Artificial Intelligence Feat SweetRonic Deep).
Nkuly Knuckles, a Mayberry Park DJ and producer whose real name is Nkululeko Nkabinde, is not new to our entertainment world.
The hitmaker and Alberton-based record label director, DJ and producer has teamed up with Ed-Ward, whose real name is Jabulani Mzumbe.
Mzumbe has been in the industry with several years of experience in music production and a huge catalogue of releases both locally and internationally. These releases have been made through renowned record labels such as Stay True Sounds, Sondela Records and Atjazz Record Company.
The two producers have been friends for over five years and this marked their first official collaboration project titled, New Light, which has been released and published under Knucklesprosound record label.
Something for deep house music lovers
“We started working on the project about two years ago. We have completed a lot of songs and this two-track EP is just a teaser to lots of music to come. The EP is signifying a new path of hope that we look forward to within the house music scene, the tile says it all,” said Nkabinde.
In a world where the youth is faced with many challenges, he said all they can do is dish out good music and give people hope.
“The songs fall under the deep house category, with some elements of afro vibes from the arrangement of the percussion and drum pattern to the mesmerizing deep house horns and pads. The songs are definite club bangers with the instruments blending so well, the EP is guaranteed to get house fanatics in the mood for any occasion, whether driving or on the floor,” he explained.
The song has been well received by the deep house music community with a lot of people sharing videos of them vibing to the music as posted on the Knucklesprosound TikTok page.
The music has also gained some radio airplay where it has been played on The Penthouse sessions with Lulo Café and Lamiez Holworthy. It has also gained a spot on weekend weapons via Traxsource.
