Creative Native Vintage Motor Show & Picnic is back!

The Arts Alive International Arts Festival presents the annual Creative Native Vintage Motor Show & Picnic.

Families across Johannesburg are in for a treat as the Creative Native Vintage Motor Show and Picnic returns for another instalment of this lively event on November 26.

Hosted at the James Hall Museum of Transport from 09:00 to 19:00, the event is a celebration of the history of Joburg’s land transport and an opportunity for friends and families to come together to enjoy a fun day of exciting experiences and entertaining activities.

Every member of the friend group and/or family is catered for. The ones that love history and historical artefacts will get to experience guided museum tours where they’ll see the City’s valuable transport collection, memorabilia and other objects of artistic, cultural, historical, or scientific importance.

For vintage car lovers, there’ll be a curated outdoor exhibition of classic and vintage cars by several motor clubs and private collectors. The adventurers can hop on to the museum’s iconic 1952 vintage London Bus and explore the city while the collectors of beautiful things can visit and buy from the vintage craft market.

This November’s instalment of the event has also extended its programme to include children’s activities, so the children can have just as much fun as the adults.

Everyone can then come together to experience some of the best food the city has to offer at the food and drinks market which will have a host of local businesses serving a variety of dishes. And finally, everyone can settle in and enjoy live music from emerging and established DJs and live bands.

Visitors will also get to learn about the city’s history of land transport and how it facilitates movement in the city, both in the past and present.

As the year comes to an end and the festive summer season begins to take hold, it’s the perfect time for people to spend fun days together out in the sun enjoying good food and bonding cultural experiences.

The Creative Native Vintage Motor Show and Picnic will be a full day of fun where you can create unforgettable memories with your friends and family. Remember to bring your cameras!

Visitors are encouraged to bring their picnic blankets, cushions and chairs so they can relax throughout the day and enjoy the show.
