Locals give Vlei Street substation a facelift

Concerned community members took their time to give the Vlei Street Substation a facelift over the weekend.

Ward 106 Clr Tim Denny together with committee members has heeded the call to clean up the community.

On October 15, the team arranged to paint the Vlei Street substation and rid it of the graffiti on the walls. The paint, which made the rejuvenation a success, was sponsored by a generous resident of South Crest.

Denny told the Alberton Record they are looking to continue the work of beautifying the ward.

“Will you join us for the next one? It’s good fun, and you get to exercise a bit. It’s a great feeling when you do something for the community to better it and send a message that we care about our community. And we can achieve great things together,” he said.

Community members who are willing to come on board and join the team are encouraged to watch out for details of the next clean-up.
