Women’s mental health support group

The South African Depression And Anxiety Group.

We do not celebrate women during Women’s Month, but it is also a time to acknowledge the hardships, challenges and difficulties women face regularly.

Women experience many things that often go unnoticed or are swept under the rug.

Women’s Month is a reminder of all the incredible things women do and achieve, but it is also a time to remember the importance that they take breaks for self-care to ensure they are looking after themselves. Time to talk about what they may be going through and to connect and reach out when they are in need of help.

Sharon Manzini who is passionate about women’s mental health is launching a support group focusing on women and single parents to help lessen the burdens and struggles they may be going through.

Sharon has always been interested in the mental health space and has personally lived with mental health illness for over two decades.

She said: “I started a women’s support group to help build a community of women as we journey through life and learn to manage our Mental Health.”

The group is aimed at all women 18 years and older struggling with depression, anxiety and daily life stressors. Joining such a group offers a platform where like-minded people in similar circumstances can support and encourage other another.

The Women’s Mental Health Support Group launches On August 18 and will be held online, using Microsoft Teams at 6:30pm. Women are encouraged to join and talk about their struggles and most importantly get the support that they need.
