Spread kindness again this season with Santa Shoebox drive

The Santa Shoebox Project originally began with only 180 shoeboxes and it has grown by leaps and bounds over the past 16 years to donations of 1 077 289 Santa Shoeboxes. Through more than 60 satellite branches spread throughout South Africa and Namibia, the shoeboxes are sent to more than 1000 recipient facilities each year.

Now that Mandela Day has arrived, there are plenty of exciting ways to help others in July.

Your assistance is needed to make this year’s program even more successful for South Africa’s most popular gift-giving effort, the Santa Shoebox Project, which gives treats and necessities to children in need.

According to the account executive of Hook, Line and Sinker, Lerato Motloung, here are two wonderful ways to spread love on this Mandela Day:

1. Click HERE: Purchase these through the Santa Shoebox website, choose the beneficiary child and box contents, and include a note for the young recipient.

After that, volunteers pack the boxes and distribute them to children in remote areas. The goods mentioned as well as additional sponsored items are included in a Virtual Santa Shoebox (VSS).

This year, each VSS will include two books, one of which will be marked with a sticker that reads “#ShareTheLove,” which the beneficiary can give to a loved one with whom they want to share the love. The price of a Virtual Santa Shoebox is R450.

2. Visit Santa Shoebox Project: This fund strives to improve the lives of Santa Shoebox beneficiary children and their families over the long term by changing early childhood development centers (ECDs) in rural and poor communities across South Africa.

Private and corporate donations are used to finance the necessary infrastructure, teacher training programmes, access to potable water, and growth and development-promoting diet.

The universal theme for Mandela Day in 2022 is “Do what you can, with what you have, wherever you are.” Feeling motivated? click HERE to register.
