The PinkDrive was held on April 19 at the Glenanda Clinic, where women without medical aid over the age of 40 could go for a mammogram.
Sr Magwaza Nonhlanhla, the office manager at the Glenanda Clinic and a member of the Department of Health and Development, was the driving force behind the campaign.
As part of this project, the Glenanda Clinic has been selected for the cancer awareness project.
The goal of PinkDrive is to increase breast cancer awareness and provide breast health information and services to women who do not have access to it.
The PinkDrive truck was on hand and staff from the Glenanda Clinic were ready to help.
Chief Whip of the City of Johannesburg and Ward 23 councillor Tyrell Meyers opened the event.
Lynette Meyer, a resident of Ward 23, said the event was successful and received a great response.

Lynette is also supporting The Pink Valve Caps Project, which was started in October 2013 with Bridgestone South Africa and The PinkDrive. The initiative was created for breast cancer awareness and to raise funds for a breast cancer organisation selected by Bridgestone SA.
