Neo wants to use pageant to help ex-offenders

Mrs South Africa is the pageant and female empowerment programme for married women in South Africa.

Neo Motsapi from Kibler Park has been announced as a Bare Beauty Mrs South Africa semi-finalist for 2022.

Her journey began as a semi-finalist on March 5, where she was announced virtually on the Mrs South Africa official Instagram page, along with the others.

“I feel honoured and humbled to be one of Mrs South Africa semi-finalists for 2022. I am a hard worker, energetic and self-driven individual with great interpersonal skills that enable me to build sustainable relationships.

“Throughout my journey, I want to be as authentic and relatable as possible because for the longest time women have been expected to look a certain way, with a certain body shape to be recognised as a model.

“I want to be the voice of change. I want to promote a world that is diverse, equitable and inclusive, where difference is valued and celebrated.”

She is a spiritual worker at Johannesburg prison in the female section, as well as leads a women’s ministry consortium at her church.

“Such service cements my drive for women empowerment and sisterhood.

“My mission is to serve and assist in closing the gap between the ex-offenders and the community and restoring the confidence and dignity lost as human beings.

“I help them address the inner and outer facets of their spiritual life by pointing them to Jesus, the author and finisher of their faith, because all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.

“I would like to build them an aftercare centre, where they will be offered training, skills development and job opportunities so they can be employed or be entrepreneurs. After all, it is important for them to contribute to improving the economy. We are the apple of God’s eye, fearfully and wonderfully made. We should believe it and live it,” explained Motsapi.
