Cornelius talks about sexual offenses

Brackendowns SAPS Social Crime Prevention Unit visited the Impact Independent High School on April 11 to talk about sexual offenses to the Grade Eight and Nine learners.

“The learners were addressed on what a sexual offence is, the consequences in terms of the law and that sexual offences affect all sexes and cultures. Cyberbullying and teen suicide were also spoken about and that choices lead to consequences,” said WO Gerhard Cornelius of Brackendowns SAPS.

He said it is easy for everyone to have access to social media.

“It is important to educate our youth on the dangers that follow social media and how easily it is to get trapped,” he said.
