Zanelle takes first and second princess titles
Congratulations to Zanelle Huyzers who walked away with two titles during the Miss Ekurhuleni Pageant.
Zanelle Huyzers from Hoërskool Alberton took part in the 2021 Miss Ekurhuleni Empowerment Pageant and walked away with two titles.
The main event happened in December at the Marechelle Country Estate.
Zanelle was the youngest contestant, but that did not stop her from being named as the first princess for Face of Ekurhuleni and the second princess for Miss Teen Ekurhuleni.
“It was an honour for me to be part of this pageant. I’ve learned a lot and got to meet many amazing people,” said Zanelle.
Her two charity projects for the pageant included donating underwear packets for the elderly women at Kinross Old Age Home and donating 100 packets to abused women and children.
“Everyone who knows me knows my main focus is to help and empower the elderly and children.”
Zanelle thanked all of her sponsors, her family and the community members who voted for her.

The Ekurhuleni Empowerment Pageant empowers women between the ages of 13 and 40 with sponsorship to continue their studies.
With education being the key to anyone’s success, the aim of the Ekurhuleni pageant is, in partnership with successful businesses in Ekurhuleni, to empower women and the youth to successfully pay for and continue their studies.
It is with the initiative of the Ekurhuleni pageant that it intends to make this possible.
Ekurhuleni is rich with icons and heritage and is envied by the people of South Africa for having prime residential estates, glitzy entertainment venues, mega shopping malls, lively townships, historical villages, great schools, recreational facilities, wide-open spaces and a tourism hub to name just a few reasons why this empowerment programme and pageant is something young women should compete in.
