Bras donated to breast cancer survivors and marginalised

Creative Academy Group and Miss Deaf South Africa 2021 Megan Holmes joined hands to donate bras to Christian Centre Remar SA.

Miss Deaf South Africa 2021 Megan Holmes recently collaborated with Creative Academy Group in collecting 383 bras to be donated to Christian Centre Remar SA.

With October being Breast Cancer Awareness Month, different Creative Academy campuses and Megan partnered to support this cause.

Thanks to the support from the community, they collected these bras, which were donated to Christian Centre Remar SA on November 4.

All the donated bras will go to Christian Centre Remar SA for women’s shelter, including breast cancer survivors and the marginalised.

Megan said she has lost a few friends and family members to cancer and it is very personal to her.

“I feel I must spread awareness and encourage people to go for early detection. Also, it’s not only designed to create awareness but to help breast cancer survivors who struggle to find bras that are both functional and aesthetically appealing and those who cannot afford bras,” she said.

She said bras can essentially help cancer survivors with their healing process and empower them to go back to their normal lifestyles.

Tarryn Botha, principal at one of the schools, thanked everyone who donated towards the cause.
