Simba needs a new home

Wiseman Matasva is looking for a safe and loving home for his mix-breed 12-year-old German shepherd Simba, as he is leaving where he used to stay.

For the past six years, Wiseman stayed in a cottage of Healing Water Ministries in Bouquet Street, Rosettenville.

However, the church is moving to Rosebank and the new owners have given him until the end of the month to find an alternative place to stay.

The church wanted Wiseman to come with them; however, he cannot go as he has an upholstery business with his brother and he cannot just up and leave.

“My livelihood is here in the South, I can’t leave. However, the alternative place I’m looking for might not be habitable for Simba. Other landlords do not like animals, hence I’m looking for anyone who might be interested in housing him.

“The new owners gave me a month to look for another place to stay. I was supposed to leave in August; however, my little daughter died and they were generous enough to give me another month to stay,” explained Wiseman.

Ursula Hope from Linmeyer Community Animal Rescue said they have been helping them with top-up feeding since Covid-19 started.

“Sadly, Wiseman can no longer keep Simba as he has been forced to vacate the property where he lives. He is broken and all he wants for Simba is a warm safe home where he can lay his old head and live out his life in peace and comfort. He loves him dearly.

“Perhaps someone can offer Wiseman and Simba a room? Wiseman makes sofas to earn a little income. He doesn’t need for much. A little space to carry on with his work and a bit of a yard for Simba to laze around in,” noted Ursula.

Wiseman may be contacted on 083 753 8552 or Ursula on 082 559 8036.
