Uncle Baboo and Crew is still fighting hunger

Donations are always welcomed to continue feeding the people.

Uncle Baboo and Crew’s dedication to serving the community is extraordinary.

Fires are started up at the crack of dawn to ensure meals are packed and ready for distribution by lunchtime, and August 7 was no different.

They lovingly prepared six dhegs of mutton akhni and four dhegs of vegetable and ginger soup.

Food was distributed to a total of 15 areas, including Robertsham, Lenasia, Bosmond, South Hills, Bellavista, South Rand, Glenesk, Florida and North Cliff. They served the old age homes as well, and they were extremely grateful.

“The day ended by serving the residents of Riverlea. About 100 prepacked soup and akhni containers, along with one full dheg of soup and akhni, were distributed.

“We would like to thank our generous sponsors for always contributing to these initiatives and thus making them successful. A special thank you to all volunteers and Baboo’s Crew for their time and dedication. Poverty and hunger know no race or religion and Baboo’s Crew works to serve all humanity.

“Let us join forces to eradicate poverty and hunger. Every meal counts,” explained Uncle Baboo.
