WATCH: Simphiwe releases his fourth app

It took Simphiwe three days to develop Roade App.

One thing is for sure: Elandspark’s Simphiwe Radebe will develop another app.

He is on his fourth app now, called Roade. He has developed the Healthify, Help, and Diversity High School apps.

Simphiwe said Roade was inspired by the now obsolete Joburg Road Agency’s Find and Fix app.

“The JRA’s app is not working and when you go to Google Play Store, it shows people have difficulty logging on. So during the recent virtual MTN Business Hackathon (August 6 to 8) that I attended, I developed Roade within three days.

“In this app, residents will be able to load pictures of potholes, street lights, manholes and other municipal-related issues.

“What I like about it is that it will show the location of whatever you load. The aim is to notify the local councillor as well as the municipal entity involved.

“The residents will know what is happening around them. On your app, you will be able to track the progress of the issues that need to be attended to. Once the issue has been addressed, you will receive a notification,” explained Simphiwe.

He said once he gets the buy-in from the municipality, it is all system go because the app is ready. It can be downloaded from Google Play Store or Huawei Apps.
