Regents Park DJ mentors young artists

DJ Tumza wants to uplift up-and-coming artists.

Dumisani ‘DJ Tumza’ Dube (37) from Regents Park is mentoring young, up-and-coming artists in the South.

As one of the music mentors in the South, he urges all up-and-coming artists to not give up on their dreams. He said it only takes one shot to succeed.

“Let’s keep pushing and work together. I have currently recruited a few youngsters who work with me at our BSS Army Studios in Kine Centre next to Carlton Centre in the CBD.

“Matriculants Mellowkeys, Lazukii and Lilayah who grew up and live in Turffontein are working on some amapiano projects to be released before the festive season,” he said.

DJ Tumza’s single Shonamalanga is doing well since it was released in March.

The video has been rotating on Trace Africa, Channel O, Mzansi Music and other local radio stations. It’s also been playlisted in some radio stations in Botswana and Zimbabwe.

“Two weeks ago, it was selected in a feature called Demo Challenge at Jozi FM in Soweto on the Afternoon Drive with Vee and Refiloe every Wednesday from 16:00 to 16:20. It’s been winning the challenge since.”
