New gem of Rosettenville

Catch Sqobile on the new telenovela, The Estate, on S3 weekdays at 19:00.

Rosettenville actor and singer S’nqobile ‘Emzet’ Ngwane is making waves in the entertainment industry.

He launched his music career as a battle emcee when he was still called ‘Murderer zombie’ – the name that defined his character when he was still a battle cat in Empangeni.

Some called him a hard-core rapper. His first mixtape was titled First Murder. Unfortunately, it didn’t work due to a lack of support and knowledge of the music industry.

He only got his breakthrough with the mixtape titled Mama’s Boy, which paid tribute to his late mother who was a single parent due to the fact that his father died.

The mixtape gave Emzet the chance to get into the semi-commercial zone and the brand Emzet grew and made a statement in the streets. The mixtape didn’t only do justice to his brand, but it also put his company on the map.

Hood Masters Record (HMR) was founded in 2008 and already the company has discovered several artists that are making their way to the mainstream.

Siyabonga Bhengu, his manager, said in 2015 Emzet released a single that gave him a chance to be adored by hundreds of people across the country.

“He released a single that was titled Ngwelezane, the track highlighted the lifestyle of Ngwelezane township and every person who is from there can relate to it.

“After the release of this track he has been receiving positive responses from people who live outside the city who relate well to the track.

“Ngwelezane is more than just a track but it is more of a project that will incorporate various local artists from Ngwelezane township. It is the first single for the upcoming album that will be released soon.

“He moved to Rosettenville in 2018 as he pursued his acting career. In 2018 he featured in so many Mzansi soapies like The Queen, The Throne, Generations, Rhythm City, Skeem Saam and Isibaya to name a few.

The experience obtained during the years landed him a featured role in the new Mzansi telenovela The Estate (on S3 Monday to Friday at 19:00) with a character name Khuzwayo,” explained Siyabonga.

In the music industry this year he released his first new album titled Kings become slaves link: Kings Become Slaves – EP
