Local business owner shows token of appreciation to frontline workers

Thembi Sambo, local entrepreneur and Mrs_SA_Semi-Finalist 2021, honoured frontline workers of Netcare Clinton Hospital on April 16.

Sambo, franchisee of Jimmy’s Killer Express, generously donated 21 boxes of quarter chicken and chips to the hospital’s management, finance, reception and credit departments.

Sambo told the RECORD she also wanted to thank the staff for the support they have been giving her business.

“We are a new business and when lockdown happened the hospital staff supported us. We are honoured by the continuous support they have been giving us. And I get a first-hand experience of how much they work and how committed they are to serving the community,” she said.

She appreciated the sacrifices made by the frontline workers in making sure lives are being saved during the pandemic.

Hospital manager Tendai Makwabarara thanked Sambo for her kind donation.

“We value the relationship between her business and the hospital because we are serving a common customer, which is our community. We appreciate what she has done and this will encourage more businesses to recognise our heroes,” he said.
