House break-in suspect sentenced to five years’ imprisonment

The suspect was found guilty of house break-in and was sentenced to five years' imprisonment.

Booysens SAPS Sgt Edmond Rangwanasha is commended for his fight against crime and obtaining a guilty sentence.

On July 17 at 8.50 am the complainant left her premises in Forest Hill. She locked all doors and windows of her premises. When she returned she noticed her front door was forced open. She went inside and noticed her Lenovo laptop was stolen.

The docket was given to Rangwanasha to investigate.

A suspect was arrested on July 24 in connection with the theft. Rangwanasha collected all relevant information and statements were obtained and placed at court for a final decision.

The suspect was found guilty of house break-in and was sentenced to five years’ imprisonment, two of the five years suspended for five years on condition that the accused is not found guilty of a similar offence.

The management of Booysens SAPS thanks Rangwanasha for obtaining this successful conviction.
