Elandspark whiz child Simphiwe Radebe develops another app

Healthify App helps with when you call an ambulance and you don’t know how far away it is.

Nothing seems to stop Elandspark whiz child Simphiwe Radebe (17) from creating useful apps, as he is on a third app this year.

He first created the Diversity High School App to screen learners, especially for Covid-19.

Now he has created two more apps – Help and Healthify. The latter is already available on Google Play, while the former is still waiting for approval from Google.

Simpiwe said he was deeply concerned about gender-based violence, so he devised this app for quick emergency response.

“With this app, you only say ‘help’ and a message and your location will be sent to your primary contacts on your phone. You need have a smart phone which has Google Maps, can send SMSes and can record voice notes. It is that simple, Help App is the answer,” explained Simphiwe.

Healthify helps with when you call an ambulance and you don’t know how far away it is. The app will show an ambulance driver within a 40km radius. You will also see his/her contact numbers and they will be able to see yours.

“You can then directly contact and communicate with him/her,” he said.

Simpiwe recently participated in a virtual hackathon where he met other developers who are competing to solve problems of the world.

“I have entered my apps in the hackathon and I hope I win so that I can continue to develop more apps,” noted Simpiwe.

Simphiwe can be contacted on 068 130 3736.
