Suzie rescued from a snare

Apart from suffering and being in pain, Suzie was covered with ticks and it was clear this poor dog truly had a very traumatic time the last few weeks.

She weighed a mere 19.5kg and was struggling around with wire from a snare cut into her skin when the JSPCA came to her rescue.

Liana Marx from Johannesburg SPCA said the dog they named Suzie has been suffering tremendous pain until she was rescued.

“The dog was caught in a snare and we are sure the images tell her sad story. By the looks of the wounds, we assume this must have happened at least two weeks ago.”

Apart from suffering and being in pain, Suzie was covered with ticks and it was clear this poor dog truly had a very traumatic time the last few weeks.

“We have managed to cut the snare off that had already started to grow into her skin. The pain must have been unbearable as she kept on licking the wounds.

“She is under medical treatment and being monitored very closely.”

Any help towards Suzie’s medical bill will be greatly appreciated.

“We will keep people updated about her road to recovery.”
