WATCH: Rosettenville Central Primary School revamp

On August 14, staff from the donors came together to finalise the painting of the murals in the entrance and ablutions, sprucing up the sickbay and laying out safe sand in the playground of Rosetttenville Central Primary School.

Arrowhead Properties, owners of Mall@theJunction in Rosettenville, co-sponsored and coordinated the initiative to assist learners in safely returning to school.

This follows reports that Rosettenville Central Primary School was unable to effectively open to all the grades due to the lack of personal protection equipment (PPE).

On August 14, staff from the donors came together to finalise the painting of the murals in the entrance and ablutions, sprucing up the sick bay and laying out safe sand in the playground of Rosetttenville Central Primary School.

The donors also handed over PPE consisting of masks for the teachers and learners, sanitiser dispensers and liquid refills, first aid box, Covid-19 safety posters, toilet roll holders, sanibins, soap dispensers and soap.

Prior to the handover, Industrial Decorating Services had replaced the broken toilets and washbasins, resolved plumbing challenges, and painted the ablutions and playground.

TC&HS had installed hygiene equipment and FireBrand completed quality checks on the fire equipment.

Partnered donors: An Arrow for Change – an initiative by Arrowhead Properties to assist with Covid-19 relief, donation of sanitary ware, PPE, safe sand and labour; Industrial Decorating Services (IDS) – maintenance, painting, first aid box, labour for the ablutions and safe sand; Prodec Paint – all the paint; Fire Brand; Business System Consumables (BSC) – PPE signage; Checkers – voucher towards lunch for the learners for the day; TC&HS – deep clean in toilets for the launch and installation of equipment and JHI – CWExcellerate (drone and camera footage).

Rosetttenville Central Primary School principal, Portia Johnson thanked all the companies involved to spruce up the school.

“With Covid-19 upon us, ablution facilities are very important, so we appreciate what they have done for us,” she said.
