Learners of Marist Brothers Linmeyer make their teachers proud

"A big thank you to the Marist family members who played a role during lockdown by knitting and making a difference," said Prescious Staat from the school.

Marist Brothers Linmeyer’s Grade Seven mini councillors Dario Gouveia and Karinah Chengalaryan delivered 887 knitted squares, 105 scarves, and 12 blankets to the Mini City Council on July 24 for distribution to different charities.

The school’s grandparents, mothers and learners knitted all the squares and scarves, while some donated blankets to bring warmth and comfort to the less fortunate.

“A big thank you to the Marist family members who played a role during lockdown by knitting and making a difference,” said Prescious Staat from the school.

But it was also time for the Grade Nine learners to shine and they have impressed their teachers on another front with their talents.

These learners showcased their art, which they completed during lockdown.

“Visual arts is a growing subject in our school and the learners are learning amazing skills in primary school that prepare them well for high school.”
