WATCH: City Power, Ward 56 Clr Crichton response on power outages in Rosettenville

Rosettenville Extension residents were left frustrated as a result of having no electricity.

Response from City Power spokesperson Isaac Mangena:

“In Oakdene Wemmershoek Drive a truck hit two of our poles resulting in our overhead supply line snapping and it has affected residents with a power loss. City Power was informed of the incident yesterday, currently, our technicians are replacing the fallen poles and it is envisaged that electricity will be restored later this evening,” he said.

“At the Hill, our overhead line blew up and burnt as a result of overloading and cold weather. The incident caused a loose connection to the overhead line. We have just received a call from site that the streets that were affected by this unplanned power outage have been restored. Those streets were: East Rd, 1st Avenue, Meyrick Rd and Seamac Rd,” explained Mangena.
