GALLERY: Making the community a better place

Gilbert Ovana, Sanele Shumi and Zola Giyama took it upon themselves to donate food parcels.

“As directors of our companies, we found it only right to show great leadership by taking to leap to change situations of people less fortunate, and maybe it would inspire others to follow suit.

“If everyone lends a helping hand I believe we can change our country, and the world for the better one day at a time,” said Gilbert Ovana, director of OFAM Investments Pty Ltd

He said they are inspired to assist because they also come from similar backgrounds with the same experiences.

“Situations has worsened now due to the pandemic. We wanted to help the less fortunate, and at the same time also help to alleviate their stress levels thus making the community a better place to live.”

“We normally reach out on Mandela Day, but thought this is the best time ever for people to give a hand and helping others with an open heart which is a great feeling,” he said.

Companies involved are Bulumko Group Pty Lit owned by Sanele Shumi, OFAM Investments Pty Ltd’s Gilbert Ovana and Klearkut Media Pty Ltd’s Zola Giyama.

Dobsonville, Snake Park, Tjovitjo in Vall, Driezik in Orange Farm, and the Old Apostolic Church in Orange Farm were targeted for donations.

“We donated to the municipality at Orange Farm and they will make sure the food is distributed to the correct people with the assistance of community leaders. JMPD was also involved.”
