Johannesburg Flying Squad weekend success

One stolen vehicle recovered, a silver Opel utility bakkie.

From April 17 to 20, Johannesburg Flying Squad members arrested nine suspects for different crimes in different areas in Johannesburg and recovered one 9mm short pistol with ammunition and one stolen vehicle.

Among the nine suspects arrested, three were for possession of stolen property, three for contravention of the Disaster Management Act, two for possession of unlicensed firearm and ammunition and one for possession of drugs.

Johannesburg Flying Squad, communication officer, Raymond Sambo said investigation continues in all cases.

“Working together with the community led to these recoveries. SAPS appreciates the public for their contribution. It should also be noted that any information regarding the vehicle, one may contact the relevant detective quoting the relevant case number.

“All nine suspects aged between 27 and 35 will be appearing soon in different Magistrate Courts facing charges of possession of stolen property, possession of unlicensed firearm and ammunition, contravention of the disaster management act and possession of drugs,” he said.
