Food parcels for recyclers
“It was so wonderful to see smiles on people's faces. They were so happy because they will have something to eat on their table,” said councillor Mongameli Mnyameni.
On April 11, food parcels were given out to the vulnerable and needy recyclers (Abakrerezi) in Ward 124 at Wembley Stadium.
MMC of Environment and Infrastructure Services Mpho Moerane, Matshidiso Mfikoe and Ward 124 councillor Mongameli Mnyameni were handling the distribution.
“It was so wonderful to see smiles on people’s faces. They were so happy because they will have something on their table,” said Mnyameni.
Necessary precautions were followed during the event, such as social distancing and hand sanitising for everyone.
