This meant a “stay-at-home” for everyone in the country, except for essential personnel such as doctors, nurses and police. But not to the informal settlement of Jackson on the South of Johannesburg, where it seemed almost normal with people roaming around the streets and playing at the soccer fields.
Local businesses such as vendors, Tuck-Shops and Skopo seller are also operating as normal.
Speaking to residents in informal settlements it is clear the message did not reach them as it should have and that education about Covid-19 is lacking in townships?
