Door of Hope celebrate their 21st birthday

Help Door of Hope to celebrate another 21 year of saving abandoned babies, bringing children home, building people of character and bridging a better world.

Door of Hope Children’s Mission is home to abandoned and unwanted babies.

Established in July 1999, it was the first organisation to instal a modern-day BabyBox.

The Babybox is a metal box built into a wall for desperate mommies to safely place their babies they are unable to care for.

Since 1999 they have received 228 babies through the BabyBox, and have an overall intake of 1 700 babies.

They are a registered non-profit organisation (NPO) with the approval of public benefit organisation (PBO).

Two baby homes are run in Glenvista, and one in Berea, where their two BabyBoxes have been installed.

Door of Hope is also in the process of building a children’s village in Aloe Ridge, De Deur.

21 years of saving lives

This year Door of Hope is celebrating their 21st birthday.

For the last 21 years they have had some easy times, but also extremely difficult times.

They have received tremendous support from the community, schools, churches, companies and the Department of Social Development, to enable them to pull through the difficult years.

Door of Hope celebrated the lives of 1 700 babies with many adoptions. They thanked their supporters for walking this road with them.

They look forward to another 21 year of saving abandoned babies, bringing children’s home, building people of character and bridging a better world.

If you would like to make a donation to celebrate their last 21 years of existence, you are welcome to donate to Door of Hope Children’s Mission, Standard Bank Southdale Branch, code 006405 account number 201072688.

All donations are welcome, but the home, in celebratory terms, would love donations of R21, R210, R2 100 or R21 000.

Door of Hope is also hosting a gala dinner in July to celebrate, so watch this space.
