Gold Reef City hosts a Cansa Shavathon: shave, spray, donate!

Gold Reef City, in association with Cansa, will be hosting Shavathons on March 6 and 7.

Gold Reef City will be hosting Shavathons from 9am to 5pm on March 6 at the Gold Reef City Casino, main entrance and on March 7 from 9.30am to 5pm at Gold Reef City Theme Park, Town Square.

Save the dates and help them to beat 2019’s R60 000 donation!

All donations will go towards Cansa’s care and support programmes for patients, caregivers and loved ones.

This year’s Shavathon theme Hope 2020 is appropriate, as participants will be giving ‘Hope’ to cancer patients, survivors and their loved ones, by showing solidarity in the fight against cancer as they stencil, spray or shave their hair.

Adults need to donate R50 to this worthy cause, while children under 12 need to make a donation of R25 to get in on the Shavathon action.

Cansa provides a unique, integrated service to all people affected by cancer.

This non-profit organisation enables research on the lowering of cancer risk, educating the public regarding symptoms, screening and risk reduction and providing care and support to all people affected by cancer.

Its advocacy team performs a watchdog role to oversee South African policy makers and influence important cancer-control issues.

They also strive to protect the patients’ right to health care.

Invite all your friends and family; let’s make a notable difference in 2020.
