UPDATE: Ridgeway family progressing well after accident in Cape Town

Not out the woods yet as both Ann and George still in hospital; however, they are thriving under the circumstances.

The Ridgeway Extension Three family that was involved in an accident wants to thank everybody from the bottom of their hearts for all the incredible support the people have been giving.

Not out the woods yet as both Ann and George are still in hospital; however, they are thriving under the circumstances.

The family has this to say: “Family and friends. What a journey this has been for George, Ann, Elijah and Riley. And of course Tasha, Gaby, Daniel and Ockert. Weeks filled with ups and downs. Each of you has walked this path with the Sarkis and Corrall family. On their behalf, I say thank you, thank you. Thank you for all your endless prayers, words of encouragement, love and support. And thank you for your contributions, no matter how big or small, each penny will make the world of difference to our humble family. May God bless each of you tenfold.

“As you know, Riley is home, Elijah has been discharged (but still in the Cape). Ann and Georgie are progressing well. We thank God for blessing us the way He has.

Ann received Lebanese pies from Aunty Paulina in Johannesburg.

“We also acknowledge the huge cross that Ann and George have to bear, both physically and emotionally, and this cross extends to the two little ones, Elijah and Riley as well. So your continued support and prayers are of paramount importance to us. Having said this, I humbly ask that should you visit either of them, please be mindful not to chat about the horrible accident or show them any photos of the car. The images are very graphic and quite scary. Apart from their physical injuries and having just ‘pulled through’ with their lives, all four of them are all still in an extremely sensitive emotional state, and are all in need of counselling too. Elijah also now has his cellphone back, and given the news from his neuro about not being able to play rugby again, please also be mindful of Elijah’s dreams being shattered and how sensitive he is to that right now. So for these reasons, I will be restricting ‘commenting/sending’ ability on the update group. I do however promise to send updates as regularly as possible. Thank you so much for understanding. We could never have come this far without each of you. All our love, Lolly and Wendy.”
